Faculty Guild, a fast-growing educational services and technology company based in Arlington, VA, is seeking a higher education expert (particularly with faculty-facing experience) to convey the value of Faculty Guild to prospective institutions. Your role will be to generate interest, create a vision for the institution and secure commitment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and secure institutional partners to join Faculty Guild – managing the full cycle from prospect to close. 

  • Help prospective institutions design a short- and long-term plan for improvement supported by Faculty Guild, including initiative alignment, success metrics, faculty selection and funding.

  • Participate in the creation of partnership offerings to meet the various needs of prospective institutions, including delivery models and pricing structures. 

  • Work in a team environment to evolve our product offering and marketing/sales approaches based on market feedback.

  • Consistently meet revenue and activity targets.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • 5-7 years higher education experience, working in academic affairs, teaching and learning centers and/or faculty positions; familiarity with the language of teaching and learning/pedagogy a plus.

  • 2-5 years higher education sales experience preferred.

  • Proven success selling solutions, programs or ideas to higher education stakeholders (either formally or informally); experience working with Provost-level institutional leaders preferred.

  • Experience navigating the higher education procurement process including negotiations, multi-year agreements and RFPs.  

  • Experience creating and executing strategic territory development plans. 

  • Top-notch communication skills to convey the company’s vision and mission with authenticity to senior higher education leaders; excellent phone, presentation, listening and writing skills.

  • Experience in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and dynamic environment where change is a given.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Ability to travel, initially 10-15%, to industry conferences and qualified prospects.
